Baby is crying, career is going left, partner is either MIA or emotionally distant, money farm is experiencing a drought...

BUT YoU aRE a STroNg blaCk WoMAn....

Fuvk that right now I need help‼️ We need help! It is okay to ask for it!

Growing up in today's America you are fed this narrative that you don't need no body I can raise this child on my own blah blah...

Iyé (mommy) told me ASK FOR HELP! No reason the be a sufferhead when she is alive and present. The only reason why she wasn't able to have the support she needed when raising my sisters and I is because she was a immigrant. Came here in '87 and had me '88.

Back home (Nigeria) 80% of the time there is a mama 👵🏾👵🏿👵🏽 that helps young mothers take care of the children.

The same USED to be true here in America but economically it's not possible.

Nonetheless this does stop us mommies from asking for help. Ask a friend, auntie, cousin, grandma, etc. SOMEONE will help you HELP YOU!

Q. - How have you asked for help?

[ SIDENOTE | ...there is a reason why women of color (especially immigrant women) are always hired to be nannies/caretakers. Intuitively we know what we are doing.]
